YSSY (Syd tower) is the main ATC for YSSY. He is on nearly every day between 5:00 and 10:00 P.M. EST. His service, perseverance, and politeness have earned him a spot in this wiki. It is unknown exactly when YSSY (Syd-Twr) started using Geofs, though when asked, he said about 4 years. It is apparent that he is an expert. YSSY (Syd tower) has made YSSY a popular airport when he is online. One of the wonders of GeoFS, as one pilot put it.

YSSY (Syd tower) is one of the well-known players. It is hard to label him as a pilot since he rarely flies, mostly staying in Sydney and doing his job. This is why he is liked by nearly all pilots. Of course, there are the occasional pilots that team up and start "bombing" his airport. They are ignored by the tower they are trying to bomb. YSSY (Syd tower) is so devoted to his job that he says he only does actual flying once a month, if at all.

One thing worth noting is that YSSY (Syd tower) will typically not help pilots who have been rude to him. Additionally, he does not engage in Roleplay of any kind. An example of this was seen on April 23, 2020. A pilot by the name of EMA123 had departed Sydney Airport under YSSY (Syd tower)'s guidance, and flew for about 10 minutes before declaring that he had an aircraft emergency. The pilot repeated this statement several times, but received no response from YSSY (Syd tower). This was most likely due to the fact that Sydney Airport had a very large number of pilots there, and YSSY (Syd tower) may have been getting somewhat bogged down with large numbers of takeoff, taxi, and landing requests. EMA123 then became angrier, saying such things as "YSSY NEVER DOES HIS JOB", and similar statements. He eventually landed without clearance on Runway 07/25, and proceeded to say "YSSY YOU SHOULD QUIT YOUR JOB". It is well worth noting, however, that in the process of returning to and then circling the airport while complaining that YSSY (Syd tower) wasn't helping him, EMA123 had flown directly over several airstrips that would have been capable of handling his "emergency" situation.

Similar occurrences continues to happen to this day, but YSSY always simply ignores them.

Notes[]

It is recommended to be familiar with ATC regulations before interacting with YSSY.

Roleplay is automatically ignored by YSSY, that includes unscheduled returns to the airport right after taking off.

YSSY was questioned what he thinks about having a "helper" such as a ground control. He replied that he works better when alone. Therefore this should be considered before "volunteering"
